Candle Care
Candle Care
A little care goes a long way. Follow these simple steps to get the most out of every burn.
The first burn is everything.
The very first time you light your candle allow the wax to melt all the way to the edge of the jar. This is called a full melt pool and it prevents tunneling — where the wax burns straight down the center and wastes the sides. This first burn sets the memory of your candle and ensures an even beautiful burn every time after.
Trim your wick to one quarter inch before every burn. A trimmed wick gives you a cleaner flame, less smoke and a longer burn time.
Burn your candle for no more than 4 hours at a time. Short intentional burns protect the wax and give you the full 50 plus hour burn life.
Keep your candle away from open windows, fans and air vents. Drafts cause uneven burning, excessive flickering and black soot on the jar.
Use a candle snuffer or gently blow out your candle. Never use water to extinguish a candle as it can crack the glass and splatter hot wax.
Always burn responsibly.
- Never leave a burning candle unattended
- Keep out of reach of children and pets
- Always burn on a stable heat resistant surface
- Do not burn near flammable materials or fabrics
- Stop burning when only half an inch of wax remains
- Do not move a candle while the wax is melted or the jar is hot
- Keep the wax pool free of wick trimmings and debris
Storing Your Candle
Store your candle in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight and heat. Sunlight and heat can cause the wax to soften, discolor and affect the fragrance. Keep the lid on when not in use to preserve the scent.
